M7HorsesThe sun is coming up over in the east, the mist is rising. Large Clydesdale horses are looking for carrots over the fence.

The waterbirds stroll looking for breakfast while the white cockatoos  set up a raucous hullabaloo.

The cows across the paddock are looking over here as we set up for the day.

M2Pretty soon you can smell bacon and eggs and sausage cooking, and  coffee  of course.

its breakfast time.

Other smells are in the air as you walk through the market.

fresh baked bread,

sweet cakes and candies.

fresh orange juice.

There is colour everywhere.

Fresh veg,  dark green spinach,

bright orange carrots.

coloured jams and

blue and grey fish.

bright banners, pennants and signs

It’s good to be here, rugged up, drinking coffee, enjoying the atmosphere.

The sun is up and the mist is gone.

The crowd thickens. You wave to people you know,

Friends and strangers alike  stop to chat,

we pat some puppies.

we sell some stuff,

life is good.

    Hi Jim & Vicki, Love this – how about a word picture of driving into Glenorie. You gotta admit, its very pretty countryside. Would also appreciate your advice for weight reduction for a very fat blue heeler X jack russell, approx 3 years old. He has just started devouring large offcuts of meat and some bones whole. Gets plenty of exercise but seems to be getting bigger by the day. Help!!

    We agree whole heartedly that Glenorie is a beautiful area to drive to.
    About your Jack Russell/Blue Heeler cross. Keeping bones & meat offcuts in the diet is a good idea. It might be the type of meat & bones that are the problem. keep away from fat itself or fatty meats. Lean meats such as Roo, Chicken (skin off), Beef or Fish are good. You can bulk out the diet with vegetables that are broken down through light steaming or blending/juicing (stay away from starchy veg such as potato), over-ripe fruit, yoghurt and occasional eggs. Keep away from grains such as bread, rice & pasta. Be aware of what is toxic to dogs, such as macadamias, grapes, sultanas, chocolate,caffeine, xylotol(sugar substitute), avocado, mushrooms, corn cobs & cooked bones (both can get caught in the gestational tract). A lot of common sense and a little know how goes a long way. Hope this helps.
